Collect Them All . . .
There is a plethora of talented artists throughout the world who produce beautiful works
of art. Most of which may never be known unless you happen to walk into the right
art gallery in some small town somewhere. Their talented works of arts, more than likely,
will not be selected by a major postal authority to appear on a postage stamp. But that
doesn't mean that these artists' works of art are not worthy of
being enjoyed and remembered throughout the annuls of history. Or your collection of
topical stamps...The Olathe Poste strives to seek out these artists, reproducing their
art on real traditional stamps. You may consider them as Cinderella stamps, but
we call them artistamps. To honor the art, the artists, and you, the collector of fine
stamps.
Stamps, Covers, and more...
Every stamp that we produce to memorialize a work of art, is considered just as important
as a postage stamp produced by a governmental postal authority. As such, there is a story
behind the piece of art. There is undoubtedly a statement to be made about the artist, who
they are, why they produce the wonderful works that they do.
These simple facts are exactly why we produce more than just the stamps themselves. It
is our philosophy that the stamps themselves deserve the same philatelic fanfare as their
postal counterparts. Hence, there are First Day of Issue
(FDOI) covers associated with the stamps we produce.
The information that we as collectors ourselves seek for our own edification and to
make our collections more enjoyable and meaningful, usually cannot be summed up on the
back of a FDOI cover.
The knowledge to be gained about the art, artists, and the resulting stamps are
recorded in aesthetically pleasing ways on album pages that
are especially created for each stamp issue. Ready for you to add to your collection and
sized to fit any standard, 3-ring binder.
Traditional Stamps?
From our perspective, stamps should look like and act like stamps. Made on real,
dry-gummed (moisture activated) papers and pinhole perforated. The stamps we produce may
be soaked off a cover, hinged in an album, and licked to apply.
There may come a day when we are forced to manufacture die-cut
self-adhesives, but until then, we'll make them the traditional way.
