MEMBERSHIP
We realize that words like "authorized,"
"registration form" and "membership" sounds very much like you're
joining a club. But as we said before, the Intl. Local Post is not just a club,
it's a community. And because our community is designed with the
best interests of young people everywhere in mind and in other ways besides the hobby of
philately, special considerations and conduct must always be followed.
While we do not require anyone to pre-register or apply for membership in the ILP, we
do expect all station personnel (members, if-you-will) to always act in ways that are
responsible and of the highest standards. Ethics and moral turpitude are key in the ILP.
When you purchase a station start-up kit you are, essentially, attesting that you (and any
peers or subordinates) will operate under our banner of the International Local Post are
trustworthy, ethical, and will adhere to these same human values that we hold dear.
Plagiarism, for example, will not be tolerated.
Our standards are just as stringent as those set by the American Philatelic Society.
Probably moreso. So while losing your "approved status" and ILP authorization
may not seem like much on the surface, any actions by you that would give us cause to
revoke your International Local Post authorization will also be reported to the APS. Which
could lead to your loss of membership there or, in the future, deny you the ability
to enjoy a membership in that organization.
If these terms are unacceptable to you, please go somewhere else to play.
Assuming that you are willing to play fair and, if nothing else, live by the
Golden Rule in your dealings with us and the children of our International Local Post
community, then we heartily welcome you.
